For some time I have been dreaming of a show that expresses the fragile veil of being self sufficient. This group of work will be some of my most ambitions, featuring macro high frame rate video recording. The pieces will each be able to stand on their own with an element of sweetness to the fulfillment of a task. Production is planned for this April and I hope to display the entire group of video sculptures in the Fall of 2011.

When the RedEye iBall 6 needed an event designer to helps sculpt the aesthetic of the evening and find the right talent they called Ms. Kim Alpert in. Through my network of talent we crafted a night that was not only fun, but memorable for the guests and sponsors. It was an honor to help make such a great night come to life and a huge thanks to everyone at the RedEye (Tribune), Verbal Kent, The Brickheadz, Frost Lighting, MFChicago, and all the partners.

The summer opened with an exciting shoot for Under The Root. I’ve begun the identity and launch of their 2009/2010 winter line with a full brand package. Name, logo, online, and print materials are all on their way. We started with a full 18 hour shoot for the catalog with over 2 thousand digital shots from Eric from Glitter Guts. At the same time we staged the catalog shoot we had incredible lighting designer Drew Goldman on hand to change up the lighting for David Hanus who shot about 50 medium format shots on film. The entire escapade was shot on video for an upcoming music video for monologic as well. The whole thing will launch at the end of the summer with an exhibition of the large format photos, catalogs and release of the new line and the premier of the music video. A big thanks to all the models, zapp props, Mary Roland, and Greg Cross. The theme: post apocalyptic feminist hunting lodge. The photo below is just a little fun Sarah Joyce from Glitter Guts had as we start the retouching and finishing process. Check back for more info on the launch event and the whole project as it comes along.
